Test TC-7A - No Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal (DTC 15)

WARNING:
Keep hands and feet clear of rotating wheels.
- Raise and support vehicle under lower control arms, allowing wheels to spin freely. Start engine. Using scan tool, read vehicle speed sensor MPH value. Place transmission in a forward gear. If scan tool displays more than 0 MPH, go to step 3). If scan tool does not display more than 0 MPH, go to next step.
- If vehicle is equipped with an electronic automatic transmission, go to TEST TC-7B. If vehicle is not equipped with an electronic automatic transmission, go to TEST TC-7C.
- At this time, condition required to set DTC is not present. NO VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL DTC sets when Powertrain Control Module (PCM) does not see a speed signal on PCM terminal No. 47 for more than 11 seconds. Possible causes are: open or shorted VSS White/Orange wire, speedometer pinion factor not programmed, failed vehicle speed sensor (except 41TE transmission), failed Transmission Control Module (TCM) (41TE transmission), or failed PCM.
