Test TC-17A - Injector Control Circuit (DTC 27)

- Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Attempt to start engine; crank engine for at least 10 seconds if necessary.
- Allow engine to idle for at least 20 seconds. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool does not display INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT, go to next step. If scan tool displays INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT, go to appropriate test. See INJECTOR DTC table.INJECTOR DTC
DTC Go To INJECTOR #1 CONTROL CIRCUIT TEST TC-17B INJECTOR #2 CONTROL CIRCUIT TEST TC-18A INJECTOR #3 CONTROL CIRCUIT TEST TC-19A INJECTOR #4 CONTROL CIRCUIT TEST TC-20A INJECTOR #5 CONTROL CIRCUIT TEST TC-21A INJECTOR #6 CONTROL CIRCUIT TEST TC-22A - At this time, condition required to set DTC is not present. INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT DTC sets if Powertrain Control Module (PCM) does not detect an inductive kick .18ms after injector turn off with no other injectors on. Possible causes are: open or shorted injector control circuit, open injector power supply circuit, open injector, or failed driver in Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Go to next step.
- Inspect all related wiring and connectors and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2. If no problems are found with wiring and connectors, go to next step.
- Start engine. Wiggle injector-to-PCM wiring harness. If engine misfires or stalls, repair wiring harness as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2. If engine does not misfire or stall, see INACTIVE DTC CONDITION .
- Perform TEST VER-2.
