Test NS-9B - Repairing No Crank Condition

- Disconnect starter relay. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on starter relay connector Black/Orange wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Orange wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, put scan tool in voltmeter mode. Using scan tool, check voltage on starter relay connector Red/Yellow wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Red/Yellow wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, using an external voltmeter, check voltage on starter relay connector Yellow wire. Hold ignition switch in RUN position while observing voltmeter. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Yellow wire. Perform TEST VER-1.WARNING: Engine may crank in following step. Keep away from moving engine parts.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, ensure transmission is in Neutral and parking brake is set. Briefly connect a jumper wire between starter relay connector Red/Yellow wire and starter relay connector Brown wire. Note if engine cranks or starter solenoids. Go to TEST NS-9C.
