Test NS-6C - Correcting No Response Condition

  1. Inspect ENG fuse in Power Distribution Center (PDC). If ENG fuse is not blown, repair open Red/White wire between battery and PCM terminal No. 3. Perform TEST VER-1. If ENG fuse is blown, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. PCM connector should still be disconnected. Disconnect ASD relay. Put scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Using scan tool, check resistance on PCM connector terminal No. 3 (Red/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
  3. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, using scan tool, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to TEST NS-6D. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect ignition coil connector. Using scan tool, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace ignition coil. Perform TEST VER-1.
  4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect generator field connector. Using scan tool, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in generator. Perform TEST VER-1.
  5. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect fuel injector harness connector. Using scan tool, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in fuel injector harness. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/Orange wire between ASD relay connector and fuel injector harness. Perform TEST VER-1.
