Test SC-5A - Checking Park/Neutral Position Switch Sense

Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) 60-pin connector. Check connector, and clean and repair as necessary. Ensure gear selector is in Drive. With DRB in ohmmeter mode, probe PCM connector terminal No. 30, park/neutral position switch sense circuit (Brown/* wire or Black/White wire).
NOTE: * = Tracer color on wire may vary between models. Information as to the specific color per model is not available from manufacturer.
If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SC-VER . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect park/neutral position switch connector. Check connector, and clean and repair as necessary.
With DRB in ohmmeter mode, probe PCM connector terminal No. 30, park/neutral position switch sense circuit (Brown/* wire or Black/White wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace park/neutral position switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SC-VER . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown/* wire or Black/White wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SC-VER .
