- Shift transfer case into 4H position. Remove shift bezel screws. Slide boot, bracket and bezel upward to access shift lever and gate. See Fig 1. Using wire or tape, secure shift lever in 4H position in shift gate.
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove adjusting swivel lock bolt and lock plate. Disconnect adjusting swivel from shift arm. Ensure range lever is in 4H detent. To obtain free fit in shift arm, adjust swivel position on shift rod as necessary.
- Connect swivel to shift arm. Install swivel lock plate and lock bolt. Tighten lock bolt to 90 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Lower vehicle. Install boot, bracket and bezel.
