Locking Hub Overhaul: Reassembly

  1. Install conical spring on cam follower, with smaller end of conical spring toward cam follower. Pack hub sleeve with Lubricant (1052750). Install clutch gear over splines of hub sleeve.
  2. Install cam follower on clutch gear. Ensure legs on cam follower engage with flat areas of clutch gear. Lubricate splines of hub sleeve with lubricant.
    CAUTION: Ensure clutch gear and conical spring slide freely over hub sleeve splines.
  3. Install "C" type retaining ring on hub sleeve. Install hub sleeve assembly in outer clutch housing. Install outer cage by seating it under rim of outer clutch housing.
  4. Install inner cage and snap ring. Install spring support washer, spring retainer, return spring and remaining spring retainer in outer clutch housing. Install retaining ring in outer clutch housing.
  5. Lubricate outer diameter of brake band with Lubricant (1052750). Install shield on brake band. Install drag sleeve and detent, and install brake band assembly. Install small spacer and retaining ring.
