Gauge Stays At Empty Position

Check for fuel in tank. Turn ignition on. Disconnect lead at fuel tank. If gauge now reads past FULL mark, replace fuel gauge sending unit. If gauge does not read past FULL mark, check for short to ground between gauge and fuel tank. Repair as necessary. If ground is okay, replace gauge.
