Fuel Transfer Pump (Inlet Line Restriction)

  1. Remove rubber hose that fits between transfer pump and fuel heater. Install vacuum gauge with hose and "T" fitting between transfer pump and fuel heater. Start engine.
  2. Note vacuum reading when transfer pump begins to operate at full capacity. If vacuum is less than 4 in. Hg, inlet line is okay. If vacuum exceeds 4 in. Hg, check for restricted inlet line or in-tank fuel filter.
