Axle Shafts: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. Remove axle flange bolts. See Figure. Strike axle shaft flange lightly with soft-faced hammer to loosen shaft. Grip rib on axle shaft flange with locking pliers and twist to start axle shaft removal. Remove axle shaft from axle tube.
