Front Disc Rotor - "V" Series: Installation

  1. Install hub and rotor assembly. Install wheel bearing adjusting nut and tighten to 50 ft. lbs. (68 N.m) while turning hub and rotor assembly. This seats wheel bearings.
  2. On vehicles with automatic locking hubs, back off adjusting nut then tighten to 35 ft. lbs. (47 N.m) while turning hub and rotor assembly. Back off adjusting nut 3/8 turn maximum.
  3. On vehicles with manual locking hubs, back off adjusting nut then tighten to 50 ft. lbs. (68 N.m) while turning hub and rotor assembly. Back off adjusting nut enough to free bearing.
  4. On all vehicles, install ring, ensuring hole in ring aligns with pin on adjusting nut (turn adjusting nut slightly, if necessary). Install lock nut and tighten to 160 ft. lbs. (217 N.m).
  5. Measure hub/rotor end play (axial play). End play should be .001-.010" (.025-.25 mm). To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure.
