Fitting Pistons

  1. Measure cylinder bore diameter 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) below cylinder block deck surface. Measure piston diameter at 90 degree angle to piston pin, on pin centerline. Determine piston clearance.
  2. If clearance is not within specification, replace piston and/or machine cylinder bore. See CYLINDER BLOCK table and PISTON, PINS & RINGS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
