Gauge Always Reads Empty

Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit wire. Turn ignition on. If gauge reads full, check fuel gauge ground circuit. If circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge sending unit. If gauge reads empty, check for short circuit in Pink wire. If circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge.
