Lock Cylinder: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery terminal. Remove steering wheel. Using Lock Plate Compressor (J-23653-A), compress lock plate and pry snap ring from groove. See Fig 1. Discard snap ring. Remove lock plate. Lift turn signal switch far enough to slip over end of shaft. It is not necessary to remove turn signal switch completely.

- Place key in lock cylinder. Turn key to RUN position. Remove lock retaining screw, being careful not to drop screw down column. Rotate lock cylinder to align cylinder key with keyway in housing. See Fig 2. Pull cylinder from housing.
