Leaf Spring Assembly: Installation
- Install leaf (10) spring to the rear axle.
- Install spacers, shims, auxiliary spring (32) (if equipped) and anchor plate.
- Install U-bolts (8), washers (21), and nuts (22). Tighten the nuts (22) in the sequence shown initially to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N.m), then final torque in the sequence shown to specification. See Fig 1

- Connect shackle (6) to the leaf spring (10).
- Install bolt (2), washers (3), and nuts (5), making sure the bolt is positioned correctly. See Figure
and Figure
.
- Connect leaf spring to the front hanger (18).
- Install bolt (2), washers (3), and nut (5). DO NOT tighten.
- Connect leaf spring to the rear hanger (25).
- Install bolt (2), washers (3), and nut (5). Tighten nuts (5) and bolts (2) to 92 ft. lbs. (125 N.m).
- Lower the support to the rear axle. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
