Speedometer & Odometer Do Not Operate Properly
Perform the following test(s).
- DRAC Inoperative - Disconnect DRAC harness connector and turn ignition on. See DRAC MODULE LOCATIONS TABLE. Check voltage between Brown wire of harness connector and ground. If voltage is less than battery voltage, check for open or short in Brown wire.
- Poor Ground Path - Check voltage between Pink/Black wire and Black/White wire of DRAC harness connector. If voltage is less than battery voltage, check for open or short in Black/White wire.
- No VSS Signal - Raise and support vehicle. Connect voltmeter between Purple/White wire and Light Green/Black wire at DRAC. Start engine and place transmission in Drive. Ensure AC voltage changes with vehicle speed. If AC voltage does not vary with vehicle speed, check for open or short in both wires. If both wires are okay, replace VSS located in transmission tailshaft housing.
- No Speedometer Output - Raise and support vehicle. Connect voltmeter between Light Green/Black wire and White wire at DRAC harness connector. Start engine and place transmission in Drive. Ensure AC voltage changes with vehicle speed. If AC voltage does not vary with vehicle speed, replace DRAC.
- No Cruise Control Output - Raise and support vehicle. Connect voltmeter between Yellow wire and Black/White wire at DRAC harness connector. Start engine and place transmission in Drive. Ensure AC voltage changes with vehicle speed. If AC voltage does vary with vehicle speed, replace DRAC.
