Removal & Installation

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Remove automatic locking hub cover screws. Lift off cover and "O" ring. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove spring, inner race, bearing and retainer ring. Remove keeper from outer clutch housing. Remove ring with needle nose pliers.
  3. Install 2 cover screws in outer clutch housing, and withdraw the assembly from wheel hub. To install locking hub, reverse removal procedure. Clean and lubricate bearing and race. Use new "O" ring and tighten cover screws to 45 INCH lbs. (5 N.m).
