Steering Knuckle: Installation

  1. Install new knuckle grease seal using hammer and Front Hub Knuckle Inner Seal Installer (J-28574 ). Install spacer. Install knuckle onto ball joint studs.
  2. Attach ball joint mounting nuts. Install tie rod nut. Install hub and bearing assembly onto axle shaft and into knuckle. Tighten drive axle nut. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  at end of article.
  3. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Check and adjust ride height. See Figure and Figure . Check front end alignment as necessary. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT article.
