Pivot Shaft Bushing Replacement ("S" Series)

- With upper control arm removed from vehicle, remove nuts from ends of pivot shaft. Position control arm assembly in a soft-jawed vise.
- Using Bushing Remover (J-22269-1 ), a slotted washer and a short piece of pipe (slightly larger than bushing), press bushing and pivot shaft from control arm. Repeat procedure for opposite bushing.
- To install bushings, place pivot shaft in control arm. Using Bushing Installer (J-22269-1 ) and small piece of pipe with the same O.D. as the bushing, press new bushing into control arm bore and onto pivot shaft.
- Ensure each bushing is positioned .48-.52" (12.8-13.8 mm) from face of control arm to bushing outer sleeve. Repeat procedure for opposite side bushing. Install nuts onto pivot shaft ends.
