Piston & Rod Assembly: Installation
- Properly position rings on piston. See Fig 1. Ensure that notch in top of piston is toward front of engine.
- Check connecting rod side clearance. Connecting rod side clearance must be within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of this article. Ensure crankshaft turns smoothly.
