Removal & Installation (Belt Driven Pump)

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove drive belt and upper vacuum pump mounting bolts. Raise vehicle.
  2. Drain coolant and remove lower radiator hose. Disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum pump. Remove lower pump mounting bolts and pump assembly. See Fig 1 . Using Pulley Remover (J-25034-B), remove pump pulley.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use Pulley Installer (J-25033-B) to install pump pulley. Tighten new drive belt to 146 ft. lbs. (198 N.m) or used belt to 67 ft. lbs. (91 N.m). Tighten slide adjustment and bracket mounting bolts to 20 ft. lbs. (27 N.m). Tighten pivot bolt to 32 ft. lbs. (43 N.m).
