The oil pressure gauge pointer is moved by 2 coils. Its operation is similar to that of fuel gauge. The oil pressure sending unit is connected to the junction of the 2 coils. The sending unit has a low resistance when oil pressure is low and a resistance of 90 ohms when oil pressure is high. A change in resistance changes current flow through field coils, causing pointer to move from low to high.
