A/T - Blows Fuses, Engine Runs Poorly, No TCC Lock-Up

SUBJECT: 700 R4

COMPLAINT:

Blowing fuses; Engine runs bad; No Torque Converter Lock-up; Converter Lock-up at the wrong time.

SOLUTION:

Carefully inspect insulation on all wires inside the transmission.




Pay close attention to points marked "X", where wires go through clips, or retainers.

Look for scuff marks on wires that run between filter and valve body. A grounded wire at any of these points may cause a problem to be mis-diagnosed, and may cost a shop hours of work.
