Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Remove nuts from both sides to disconnect linkage, then remove retainers, grommets and spacer.
3. Remove bracket-to-frame or body bolts, then the stabilizer bar, rubber bushings and brackets, Fig. 18.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install stabilizer bar so identification stamping appears on right side of vehicle.
b. Position rubber bushings squarely in brackets with slit in bushings facing front of vehicle.
c. Torque stabilizer bar retaining nuts to 13 ft. lbs. and bracket bolts to 22 ft. lbs. with weight of vehicle resting on wheels.
