Removal (Warner Gear Automatic Hub)
- Detach 5 Allen head screws (with "O" rings) retaining hub cover plate to outer clutch housing. Remove cover plate, sealing ring, seal bridge retainer (K10/20) or assembly aid retainer (K30), bearing race spring, inner bearing race, ball bearing assembly and bearing retainer clip.
- Using needle-nose pliers, compress wire retaining ring and pull remaining components from the wheel hub. Remove wheel bearing outer lock nut and drag sleeve retainer washer. Using Wheel Bearing Nut Wrench (J-6893-D) and Torque Wrench Adapter (J-23446 or J-6893-01 for K10/20 and J-26878-A for K30), remove wheel bearing inner adjusting nut. See Fig 1 .
- Remove hub/rotor assembly and outer wheel bearing from spindle. Using a brass drift, remove inner wheel bearing and grease seal by tapping out with hammer. If bearing(s) and/or race(s) need replacement, drive old race out of hub. Insert brass drift, through hub, behind race. Using hammer, strike drift (alternating on each side of race) until race is removed or press out with arbor press.
