Upper Ball Joint: Installation
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Using new nuts and bolts in place of rivets to attach new ball joint to control arm, tighten to specification.
- Install new cotter pin, tightening nut as necessary to align stud hole. Install grease fitting and lubricate new ball joint with chassis lubricant equal to GM-6031-M Chassis Grease (1051344).
NOTE:
Lubricate ball joints (and tie rod ends) every 4 months or 5000 miles on C20 and G30 models and every 12 months or 5000 miles on all other vehicles. For severe driving conditions, lubricate every 3 months or 2500 miles on all models.
