Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Remove intake manifold as previously outlined. Disconnect all wires, fuel and vacuum lines from rocker arm cover clips. On 4.1 L engines, remove pulse air pipes and disconnect accelerator linkage from bracket. On all models, remove rocker arm cover.
    NOTE: On 4.1 L engine, disconnect exhaust pipe at manifold.
  2. Drain cooling system and remove fuel and vacuum line from clip at water outlet. Disconnect radiator hose at water outlet and battery ground strap. Disconnect air injection hose at check valve (if so equipped) of A.I.R. pipe. Remove cylinder head bolts and cylinder head.
