Timing Gears: Removal

With camshaft removed, position camshaft and a suitable mandrel (J-971) in a press and press camshaft out of gear. Make sure thrust plate is positioned so that Woodruff key will not damage it when camshaft is pressed out of gear. To remove crankshaft gear from crankshaft pull off with a suitable puller. See Fig 1.
