1966-69 "G" Models

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove fan, pulley, radiator shroud, splash shields, accessory drive pulley (if equipped) and starter. On 1967-68 models, drain radiator and disconnect transmission oil cooler lines (if equipped) and lower radiator hose.
  2. Install suitable tool (J-6978-1) on torsional damper with shoulder of tool toward damper. Position jack under tool and remove front motor mount-to-bracket attaching bolts. Raise engine enough to clear brackets.
  3. Remove crossmember-to-frame attaching bolts and allow crossmember to rest on front springs. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and oil pan from vehicle.
