Possible Causes
- Perimeter alarm concern
- BCM
- GWM
- IPC
- BK1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes GO to BK2 No GO to PINPOINT TEST BD: THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OR THE BELT-MINDER® FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE - BK2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PERIMETER ALARM
- Arm the perimeter alarm using the remote key locking feature (key fob).
- Wait approximately 15 seconds for the system to arm.
- Open the driver door using the interior door handle.
Does the perimeter alarm sound after 12 seconds?
Yes GO to BK3 No REFER to: Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm . - BK3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the DTC Chart in this article. No GO to BK4 - BK4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Controller Area Network (CAN) Module Communications Network - Electric . No DIAGNOSE all BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REFER to the Master DTC Chart.
