- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM stores the transmission identification (TRID) information in memory. The TRID information is located on the label on the side of the transmission.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P163E:00 Transmission Control Module Programming Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the TRID does not match the version stored in the PCM calibration. Possible Causes
- Incorrect or corrupted PCM calibration.
- AA1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, program the PCM. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is DTC P163E present in the PCM '
Yes Update the PCM Calibration. CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB (General service bulletin), SSM (Special service message) or FSA (Field service action). If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern,
