Front Camber and Caster Adjustment

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment 

Transmission Jack
Wheel Alignment System

Adjustment 

Cross Camber Adjustment 

  1. Using alignment equipment and the manufacturer's instructions, measure the camber settings. Use the General Equipment: Wheel Alignment System
  2. Remove and discard the 4 load path bar-to-front subframe bolts.

  3. Position a transmission jack under the front subframe. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

    1. Loosen the 2 front subframe forward nuts 720deg. - 1080deg.
    2. Remove and discard the 2 front subframe rearward bolts.

  4. NOTE: Shifting the subframe towards the passenger side increases the driver side camber and decreases the passenger side camber. Shifting the subframe towards the driver side increases the passenger side camber and decreases the driver side camber.

    Shift the front subframe to the left or to the right to change the camber settings.

  5. NOTE: Make sure the front subframe does not move while tightening the bolts and nuts.

    1. Tighten the 2 new front subframe rearward bolts.

      Torque: 275 Nm

    2. Tighten the 2 front subframe forward nuts.

      Torque: 175 Nm

  6. Install the 4 new load path bar-to-front subframe bolts.

    Torque: 25 Nm

  7. Check and if necessary, adjust front toe. Refer to: Front Toe Adjustment .

    Cross Caster Adjustment 

  8. Using alignment equipment and the manufacturer's instructions, measure the caster settings. Use the General Equipment: Wheel Alignment System
  9. Remove and discard the 4 load path bar-to-front subframe bolts.

  10. Position a transmission jack under the front subframe. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

    1. Loosen the 2 front subframe forward nuts 720deg. - 1080deg.
    2. Remove and discard the 2 front subframe rearward bolts.

  11. NOTE: Shifting the subframe forward increases the caster. Shifting the subframe rearward decreases the caster.

    Shift the front subframe forward or rearward to change the caster settings.

  12. NOTE: Make sure the front subframe does not move while tightening the bolts and nuts.

    1. Tighten the 2 new front subframe rearward bolts.

      Torque: 275 Nm

    2. Tighten the 2 front subframe forward nuts.

      Torque: 175 Nm

  13. Install the 4 new load path bar-to-front subframe bolts.

    Torque: 25 Nm

  14. Check and if necessary, adjust front toe. Refer to: Front Toe Adjustment .
  15. Road test the vehicle.
