Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System: Overview

The EGR system controls the NOX emissions. Small amounts of exhaust gasses recirculate back into the combustion chamber to mix with the air fuel charge. The combustion chamber temperature is reduced, lowering NOX emissions.
