Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Ford Transit-350 HD, 2024 Ford Transit-350, 2024 Ford Transit-250, and 2024 Ford Transit-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The PCV system circulates crankcase gases through the intake air system into the engine where they are burned. The PCV system regulates the amount of ventilated air and blow by gases to the intake manifold.

The PCV system on this engine is equipped with a mechanical PCV valve, located in the right-hand engine valve cover.

The PCV systems comply with OBDPCV monitoring requirements to prevent accidental disconnection from the valve covers. This engine is equipped with a crankcase pressure sensor, located in the PCV hose attached to the left-hand engine valve cover.
