Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING
  2. Detach the coolant hose retainer.

  3. Disconnect the cooling fan motor and shroud electrical connectors.

  4. Detach the coolant tube from the cooling fan shroud.

  5. Remove the push pins.

  6. NOTE: The cable ties must be installed to allow the cooling module to drop 2-3 inches.

    Using a series of cable ties support both sides of the cooling module utilizing the push pin holes and the upper radiator mounts.Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties

  7. Remove the retainers and the underbodyshield.

    Torque: 5 Nm

  8. Remove the retainers and the lower load path bars.

    Torque: 1: 62 Nm 2: 25 Nm

  9. Detach coolant hose retainers.

    • Detach the wiring harness retainers.

    • Remove the bolts and position the transmission fluid heater coolant control valve.

      Torque: 10 Nm

  10. Remove the bolts and the lower radiator support.

    Torque: 25 Nm

  11. NOTE: All components are not shown for clarity.

    Release the clips and the remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
