NOTE:
If it is necessary to use the override procedure to move the selector lever out of the PARK position, it is possible that a fuse has blown.
This vehicle is equipped with a brake shift interlock feature that prevents the selector lever from being moved out of PARK when the ignition is in the ON position unless the brake pedal is applied.
If the selector lever cannot be moved out of PARK when the ignition is in the ON position and the brake pedal is applied:
- Fully apply the parking brake lever. Set the ignition switch to the 0 position (ignition off).
- Position aside the selector lever bezel.
- Lift the back of the selector lever bezel and release the tabs.
- Lift the front of the selector lever bezel and release the tabs.
- Rotate the tab located on the brake shift interlock actuator lever counterclockwise, apply the brake, press the button on the selector lever and move the selector lever to the neutral (N) position.
- Start the vehicle.
- For assembly, reverse the disassembly procedure.
