Front Halfshaft LH: Installation

NOTE: Install a new component if it is damaged or has excessive wear.

Clean and inspect the inner CV joint.

NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.

Install the new snap ring and oil seal, make sure the snap ring opening is at 6 'O clock position.

NOTE: The inner constant velocity (CV) joint must not be bent more than 18deg..

NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the seal.

Install the inner CV joint end.

Rotate the steering wheel fully to the LH side.

NOTE: Make sure that the strut is not moved more than necessary to prevent damage to top mount.

NOTE: The outer constant velocity (CV) joint must not be bent more than 45deg..

Install the outer CV joint end into wheel hub and bearing assembly.

Using special tool, pull the halfshaft into the wheel hub assembly.Install Suggested Tool: 205-1055 Installer, Companion Flange. Tool shown or a commercially available equivalent can be used.

NOTE: Only tighten the nut finger tight at this stage.

Install the new wheel hub nut.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is correctly installed.

Check the inner CV joint seated correctly.

NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the lower ball joint stud from turning while installing the lower ball joint nut.

Connect the lower control arm and install the new lower ball joint nut.

Torque

: 215 Nm

Position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly and tighten the new brake caliper anchor plate bolts.
Torque

: 275 Nm

While an assistant applies the brake, tighten the wheel hub nut.

Install the wheel center cap.
