Brake Pads - Electric Motor (C0): Installation

  1. Align the caliper piston groove with the caliper reference.

  2. Clean the brake pad to anchor plate contact surface.

  3. NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed to the position noted before removal.

    1. Start to install the clip from the top rail.
    2. Install the clip over the lower abutment.
    3. Apply pressure with fingers to fully seat the clip against bracket.

  4. NOTE: To ensure correct fitment of the brake pads, the brake pad springs are clipped to the brake caliper bracket as the last step after switching off the service mode.
    • Slightly tip the pads at an angle.

    • Ensure the guide springs are fully located on the slide.

    • Ensure the brake pads remain in contact with the brake disc.

  5. NOTE: Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted and is correctly located.

    1. NOTE: Ensure the inner brake pad with pin is aligned to the caliper piston groove.

      Carefully place the caliper in position, ensure the stud fits into the slot.

    2. NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the component.
      NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

  6. Push the caliper with the hand outwards.

  7. Fix the caliper in this position using a spacer 1.5 to 2mm or the suggested equipment.Use the General Equipment: Feeler Gauge

  8. Tighten the brake caliper bolts.

    Torque: 34 Nm

  9. Connect the electrical connector.

  10. Remove the equipment.

  11. Deactivate the brake service mode. Refer to: Brake Service Mode Activation and Deactivation .
  12. Apply the brake pedal several times to verify correct brake system operation.
  13. NOTE: Brake pad clip is one time fit and can not be reused if damaged.
    NOTE: Make sure that the component is correctly located on the locating dowels.

    Listen to the click sound while installing the clips to the bracket.

  14. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
