Pinpoint Test O: The Door Ajar, Hood Ajar Or Liftgate Ajar Warning Indicator Is Never Or Always On

See Door Ajar, Hood Ajar or Liftgate Ajar RTT Indicator. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - System Operation and Component Description .
If the driver door ajar, passenger door ajar, left rear door ajar, right rear door ajar, hood ajar or liftgate ajar status message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the appropriate ajar RTT indicator to the last indication state (on or off), based upon the last message received.
If the driver door ajar, passenger door ajar, left rear door ajar, right rear door ajar, hood ajar or liftgate ajar status message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the appropriate ajar RTT indicator off.

- Ignition ON.
- Fasten the front seatbelt buckles.
- Monitor the seatbelt RTT indicator.
- Release the front seatbelt buckles.
- Monitor the seatbelt RTT indicator.
Is the seatbelt RTT indicator off with the seatbelts fastened, and on with the seatbelts unfastened?
Yes GO to O2 No GO to Pinpoint Test A - O2 CHECK THE INTERIOR LIGHTING OPERATION
- Open and close each door while monitoring the interior lamps.
Do the interior lamps operate correctly with each door?
Yes GO to O3 No REFER to: Interior Lighting . - O3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart No GO to O4 - O4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Controller Area Network (CAN) Module Communications Network . No GO to O5 - O5 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the appropriate DTC Chart. No For a door ajar indication concern, GO to O6 For a hood ajar indication concern, DIAGNOSE the perimeter alarm doesn't arm from the hood (inoperative condition) or DIAGNOSE any hood ajar switch related BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) (always on condition). REFER to: Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm . - O6 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect the BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
