Warnings And Messages
The message center warning messages alert the operator to possible concerns or malfunctions in the vehicle operating systems. Warning messages are generally associated with other observable outputs of the IPC (gauges, informational indicators and RTT indicators). For example, when the ABS module detects a low brake fluid condition, the IPC illuminates the brake warning RTT indicator and displays the LOW BRAKE FLUID message in the message center. This allows the message center to be a more informative supplement to the IPC gauges and indicators.
Adaptive Cruise Control
The message center provides messages explaining the need for driver intervention and system status. The adaptive cruise control messages are supplemental to the cruise control RTT indicator and the adaptive cruise control warning chime.
Adaptive Headlamps
The message center provides the adaptive headlamp fault message to inform the driver of a fault with the adaptive headlamps.
Auto Hold
The message center provides messages to inform the driver of the auto hold system status. The messages are supplemental to the auto hold RTT indicator.
Automatic Engine Shutdown
The message center provides multiple messages explaining the status of an impending engine idle shut down.
AWD Off
The message center provides AWD off or temporarily disabled messages to inform the driver that the AWD feature has defaulted to 2-wheel drive due a wheel speed or accelerator pedal fault, causing the system to turn off.
BLIS / CTA
The message center provides fault messages informing the driver a system fault is detected in the BLIS / CTA system or a sensor is blocked.
Brake System
The message center provides messages related to the brake system for detected brake system faults, parking brake status or faults or if the brake fluid level is low. The messages are supplemental to the brake warning RTT indicator.
Brake Applied - Power Reduced
The message center provides a brake applied warning message to inform the driver that the brake pedal and accelerator pedals are both applied.
Brake Pad Wear
The message center provides a brake pad wear message to inform the driver that brake service is required.
Charging System
The message center provides low battery messages to inform the driver battery charge is low, and to reduce climate control usage to extend battery range.
Charge Port Door Ajar
The message center provides a message to inform the driver the charge port door is ajar.
Check AWD
The message center provides a message to inform the driver an AWD system malfunction is detected.
Destination Alert - Not Enough For Destination
The message center displays a message to inform the driver the current battery charge is not sufficient to power the vehicle to the destination selected in the navigation system.
The APIM sends the navigation coordinates to the SOBDMC. The SOBDMC uses the navigation coordinates along with the current battery charge and DTE data to calculate the distance to the next destination and whether the vehicle has enough battery charge to reach it.
DTE (Cloud Enhanced)
The message center provides messages to inform the driver of the road conditions or other operating features that caused the DTE to readjust. The cloud enhanced DTE uses calculated route plan, current traffic fluctuations, weather conditions, driving history, and elevation along the route to determine a more accurate DTE, which can vary from the vehicle's calculated DTE. The vehicle uses a cloud-based service to collect the additional data. The cloud-based data is received by the TCU and sent to the SOBDMC through the GWM, where the DTE is calculated. The calculated data is sent to the IPC to display the updated DTE and various warnings to indicate the electric range is revised due to destination route, hilly route, external temperature or route traffic.
Door, Hood Compartment, Liftgate Ajar
The IPC provides door, hood compartment and liftgate ajar warnings to indicate the status of the doors, hood and liftgate.
Driver Alert
The message center provides a driver alert message when the system detects unusual vehicle movement that can be caused by a drowsy driver.
Electric Parking Brake
The message center provides messages to inform the driver of the status of the electric parking brake or instructions when driver intervention is required.
Electronic Latch System
As part of an advanced electronic door latching system, the message center provides electronic latching system fault, instructional and status messages to inform the driver of the system status.
Front Camera
The message center provides a message to inform the driver if a front camera malfunction is detected.
Hazard - System Failure
The message center provides a message to the inform the driver a system failure is detected and to safely stop operation of the vehicle.
Highway Assist
The message center provides messages to inform the driver of system status and instructions when driver intervention is required.
High Voltage to Low Voltage Energy Transfer
The message center provides messages to inform the driver an energy transfer from the high voltage battery to the low voltage battery occurred due to a 12-volt battery fault, reduction in electric range due to an energy drain such as lights on while ignition is off, or other possible high key-off loads. The energy transfer feature prevents a no-start condition if the vehicle has not been started for an extended period without an external charge source plugged in, or due to an empty low voltage battery condition.
Hill Start Assist
The message center provides a warning to inform the driver the hill start assist system is not available.
Ignition-Engine On
The message center provides a message to inform the driver the igntion is on or engine is running while the vehicle is shifted in PARK and the driver door is ajar.
Lane Centering Aid
The message center provides messages to inform the driver of lane centering aid system status and instructions when driver intervention is required.
Lane Keeping System
The message center provides a warning message for the lane keeping alert and system fault messages for the lane keeping system.
Limited/Severely Limited Peformance
The message center provides warning messages to inform the driver vehicle performance is limited or severly limited due to excessive high or low battery temperature. The warning message displays along with the warning RTT indicator.
Load Shed
The message center provides load shed messages to inform the driver to use less options to conserve battery voltage.
Low Washer Fluid Level
The low washer fluid level message displays in the message center, along with the low washer fluid level RTT indicator, when a low washer fluid level condition is detected.
MyKey
The IPC provides a number of MyKey® related warnings and status messages to indicate restrictions imposed on the MyKey® user. These include MyKey® active, park aid, speed limits, and buckle up warnings among others. MyKey® displays are controlled through the IPC software based on the MyKey® settings configured through the center stack display and the type of key in use (MyKey® or administrator key). The MyKey® function also uses other messages received by the IPC for other indications such as vehicle speed for speed limiter displays.
One-Pedal Drive
The IPC provides messages to indicate one-pedal drive system faults and system status.
Parking Aid
The IPC provides messages to indicate the status of the parking aid system.
Passive Key And Immobilizer System
The message center provides the starting system fault message to indicate there is a concern with the PATS. The message center provides passive key and immobilizer system messages to indicate the key program is successful, key battery is low, key could not be programmed or failed or maximum number of keys have been programmed. The IPC uses the immobilizer message display messaged input from the BCM to display the applicable message center message.
Pedestrian Alert
The message center provides a message to inform the driver of the pedestrian alert status. The pedestrian alert provides an external sound to alert pedestrians of the vehicle's presence when the vehicle is moving.
Perimeter Alarm
The message center provides the perimeter alarm warning message to indicate the perimeter alarm has been activated and to start the vehicle to stop the alarm.
Plug In Vehicle
The message center provides messages to inform the driver the outside air temperature is high or low, and to plug the vehicle into a charging source when not in use for optimal battery charge.
Power Child Locks, Switch Inhibit, Low Key FOB Battery
The messge center provides a power child lock warning to inform the driver the child lock feature did not function properly. The power child lock feature is activated through the rear window lockout switch on the driver side master window control switch.
The messge center provides a message to inform the driver the door lock switches are inhibited so they cannot be used to unlock the doors when the ignition is off, such as a with a stick or similar object through an open window.
The message center provides a message to inform the driver the key battery is low.
Power Steering
The message center provides a message to indicate there is an EPAS system concern.
Rear Seatbelt Monitor
The message center provides a message to indicate the status of the second row seatbelts and if they are buckled.
Remote Start
The message center provides remote start messages to inform the driver the vehicle is in the remote start active state and how to change the state to a drivable state. The remote start message display is active as soon as the vehicle is remote started (the engine is running, but the ignition status is off). Once the driver places the ignition in the RUN state, the IPC carries out its startup sequence.
Reverse Brake Assist
The message center provides a warning message through the rear parking aid or CTA system that an object has been detected to the rear of the vehicle, when travelling at a low speed in reverse gear. The system applies the brakes for a short period of time until the driver takes action to control the vehicle.
Seatbelt
The message center provides a message to indicate the status of the front row seatbelts and if they are buckled.
Service AdvanceTrac
The message center provides messages to inform the driver of the AdvanceTrac system status. The messages are supplemental to the stability-traction control system RTT indicators.
Starting System
The message center provides starting system messages to inform the driver of the starting system status and when driver intervention is required in order to start the engine.
Steering Wheel Lock
The message center provides messages to inform the driver to turn the steering wheel to enable the release of the steering wheel lock or if a system fault condition is detected.
TPMS
The message center provides message center displays to indicate a low tire pressure condition or sensor fault or a malfunction in the TPMS.
Traffic Sign Recognition Performance
The message center provides a message to inform the driver of reduced performance of the traffic sign recognition system.
Transport Mode
When the vehicle build is complete, the vehicle is set to transport mode. While in transport mode, the IPC displays TRANSPORT MODE CONTACT DEALER in the message center. Transport mode is used to reduce the drain on the battery during longer periods where the vehicle is not used. Various systems may be altered or are disabled when in the transport mode. The vehicle automatically reverts to normal operation mode after being driven 201 km (125 mi).

Vehicle Dynamic Suspension (GT Only)
The message center provides a message to inform the driver that a malfunction has been detected in the vehicle dynamic suspension (continuously controlled damping) system.
Vehicle Inhibit (Over the Air Updates)
The message center provides a message to inform the driver certain vehicle systems are in inhibit mode due to an over-the-air software update in progress.
Wrong Way Alert (Except North America)
The message center provides a warning message to check driving direction when the traffic sign recognition system detects the vehicle is traveling on a roadway in the wrong direction. The system uses GPS location information from the APIM and the front camera to detect traffic signs. If the vehicle passes two 'no entry' signs on either side of an entrance ramp, the wrong way alert system sounds a chime and displays the check driving direction message in the IPC.
