Fuel Tank Filler Pipe: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.

Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove the rear wheel on the LH side. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
Remove the retainers and position aside LH rear wheel splash shield aside.

NOTE: Some fuel may remain in the fuel tank filler pipe after draining. Carefully disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe hose from the fuel tank and drain any residual fuel into a suitable container.

Release the clamp and disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank.

Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

1. Disconnect the vapor tube Quick Release Coupling. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .
2. Remove retainers and the Fuel Tank Filler Pipe.
  Torque: 20 lb.ft (27 Nm)
