Instrument Panel Upper Section: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the insturment panel. Refer to: Instrument Panel .

  3. Release the clips and remove the center finish trim.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

    Vehicles without floor console 

  4. Release the clips and remove the LH center trim panel.

  5. Release the clips and remove the RH center trim panel.

  6. Remove the bolts and the FCIM.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    All vehicles 

  7. Remove the bolts and the FCIM.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  8. Release the clips and remove the speaker grille.Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  9. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the rubber pad.

  10. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the trim panel.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  11. Remove the bolts.

    Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  12. NOTE: The push pin must be replaced each time the bezel is removed.

    Release the retainers and remove the LH register bezel.

    • Remove and discard the push pin.

    1. Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 36 lb.in (4.1 Nm)

    2. Separate the gap hider from the upper steering column shroud.
    3. Release the 3 clips and remove the IPC bezel.

  13. Remove the bolts and the display unit.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

      Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  14. NOTE: The push pin must be replaced each time the bezel is removed.

    Release the retainers and remove the RH register bezel.

    • Remove and discard the push pin.

  15. Remove the bolt and the RH register.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    Vehicles with storage bin 

  16. NOTE: Do not reuse push pins.

    Remove the push pins, release the clips and remove the trim panel.

  17. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the upper storage bin.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    Vehicles with storage compartment 

  18. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the upper storage compartment.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    All vehicles 

  19. Remove the screws through the upper stowage bin opening.

  20. Remove the bolts.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  21. Disconnect the passenger airbag electrical connector.

  22. Remove the RH instrument panel upper section bolts.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  23. Remove the RH instrument panel upper section by lift upwards to release the clips.Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
