Pinpoint Test Cp: P1534:01

  1. DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 
    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    IPC P1534:01 Restraint Deployment Indicator Circuit: General Electrical Failure Sets in the IPC if a fault is detected with the airbag warning indicator or RTT warning indicator.

    Possible Sources 

    • IPC
    • SRS system concern

  2. CP1 RETRIEVE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    • Wait 10 seconds.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is P1534:01 recorded? 

    Yes  GO to  CP2
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time.

  3. CP2 CHECK THE AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR OR RTT (RECONFIGURABLE TELLTALE) INDICATOR

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Observe the airbag warning indicator or RTT indicator during initial indicator prove out.

    Does the airbag warning indicator or RTT indicator illuminate then turn off during initial indicator prove out? 

    Yes  CLEAR the DTC. DIAGNOSE the SRS. REFER to: Airbag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) .
    No  INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
