Pinpoint Test BO: Invalid Data Received

  1. DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 
    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    IPC U0401:00 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: No Sub Type Information Invalid speedometer and temperature gauge data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0401:82 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing cruise control/ACC data, shift by wire, eLocker, powertrain wrench, and hazard -stop safely now RTT data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0401:86 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: Signal Invalid Invalid odometer data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0415:00 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing selectable drive mode data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0415:82 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing hill start assist, off road display, traction control on/off, or auto hold RTT data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0420:82 Invalid Data Received from Power Steering Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing power steering control data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0424:00 Invalid Data Received from HVAC Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing outside air temperature data received for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0424:81 Invalid Data Received from HVAC Control Module 'A': Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid or missing outside air temperature data received for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0424:82 Invalid Data Received from HVAC Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing outside air temperature data received for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0428:82 Invalid Data Received From Steering Angle Sensor Module: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing adaptive steering data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0431:82 Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing load shed data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0452:81 Invalid Data Received From Restraints Control Module: Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid or missing Belt-Minder data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U049C:82 Invalid Data Received From Battery Charger Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing battery charger system service required data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0533:00 Invalid Data Received From Side Obstacle Detection Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing BLIS or CTA data received for 1.6 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0534:00 Invalid Data Received From Side Obstacle Detection Control Module 'B': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing BLIS or CTA data for received 1.6 seconds or longer.
    IPC U053B:82 Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing highway assist data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0542:82 Invalid Data Received From Headlamp Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing adaptive headlamps or high beam indicator data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U057D:82 Invalid Data Received From Off-Board Charger Control Module: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing DC charger service required data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0594:00 Invalid Data Received From Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing brake coach display data received for 5 seconds or longer.

    Possible Sources 

    • Suspect module

  2. BO1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE MODULE SENDING INVALID DATA

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the self-test for the module in question sending the invalid data.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present from the module sending the invalid data? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE the module sending the invalid data. REFER to the appropriate Service Information.
    No  DIAGNOSE the observable symptom present. REFER to the appropriate symptom chart in Symptom Chart(s) .
