Block Heater: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding  .
  2. Remove the front LH wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  3. Remove the LH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  4. Detach the block heater electrical connector heat shield.

  5. NOTE: Access the block heater from the inner fender well.
    NOTE: Make sure the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components.

    Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.

  6. Remove the block heater.

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
