Pinpoint Test Cr: P1534:01

  1. DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 
    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    IPC P1534:01 Restraint Deployment Indicator Circuit: General Electrical Failure Sets in the IPC if a fault is detected with the airbag warning indicator or RTT warning indicator.

    Possible Sources 

    • IPC
    • SRS system concern

  2. CR1 RETRIEVE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    • Wait 10 seconds.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is P1534:01 recorded? 

    Yes  GO to  CR2
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time.

  3. CR2 CHECK THE AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR OR RTT (RECONFIGURABLE TELLTALE) INDICATOR OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Observe the airbag warning indicator during initial indicator prove out.

    Does the airbag warning indicator illuminate during initial indicator prove out? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE the SRS. REFER to: Airbag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
    No  INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
