Inverter System Controller [SOBDMC]: Removal

  1. NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
    NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Download the inverter system controller [SOBDMC] information to the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Refer to Module Programming . Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment

  2. Remove the DCDC. Refer to Direct Current/Direct Current (DC/DC) Converter Control Module .
  3. Remove the retainers and disconnect the high voltage cables. Disconnect the coolant hose from the inverter system controller.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  4. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to Fender Splash Shield .
  5. NOTE: Do not allow the inverter system controller to hang from the low voltage harness.
    NOTE: Be prepared to catch escaping coolant.

    Disconnect and position aside the coolant tubes. Remove the bolts.

    Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

  6. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the inverter system controller
