Programming
NOTE:
Perform the adaptive learning drive cycle on a level road surface.
- Using the scan tool, clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and Transmission Adaptive Tables.
- Drive the vehicle until the engine and transmission reach normal operating temperature 96°C - 101°C (206°F - 215°F).
-
NOTE: Confirm the engine can initiate hybrid shutdown and go into electric vehicle (EV) mode before continuing with adaptive learning cycle.
With the vehicle at operating temperature, shift the transmission into PARK range with foot off the accelerator pedal. If the engine does not shut down, drive the vehicle at steady state speed of 72 - 80 km/h (45-50 mph) for 10 km (6 miles) or until hybrid shutdown occurs. Repeat the vehicle steady state speed drive routine until hybrid shutdown occurs.
- Adapt the hybrid drive unit disconnect clutch by shifting the transmission to PARK and holding foot firmly on brake. The engine will shut down for hybrid drive unit disconnect clutch adaptive to run. Listen for electric motor to increase RPM while the disconnect clutch is learning and decrease RPM indicating the adaptive learning cycle has completed.
- Accelerate from a stop with light throttle (15%) ensuring that upshifts 1st through 8th occur at engine speeds between 1300-1600 rpm.
- Continue to accelerate (may apply slightly more throttle after 7-8 upshift at 32-38 mph (51-61 km/h) until you achieve 55 mph (88 km/h) and the 8-9 and 9-10 shifts complete.
- Brake very gently to a complete stop and hold foot on brake for five (5) seconds.
- Shift the transmission to Neutral. Wait 1 second.
- Shift the transmission to Reverse. Wait 2 seconds.
- Shift the transmission to Neutral. Wait 1 second.
- Shift the transmission to Drive. Wait 2 seconds.
- Repeat Steps 5 through 11 six additional times.
