Wheel Hub: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. Remove the brake disc. Refer to: BRAKE DISC
  2. NOTE: SRW shown, others similar.
    NOTE: The wheel hub nuts are RH thread (right hub) and LH thread (left hub).
    NOTE: Always apply inward pressure when tightening or loosening the hub nut.

    Using the special tool, remove the hub nut.Use Special Service Tool: 205-1007 Socket, Axle Nut.

  3. Remove the outer wheel hub bearing.

  4. Using the special tool and the puller, remove the wheel hub.Use Special Service Tool: 205-D017 (D80L-630-6) Step Plate.Use the General Equipment: Puller

    Vehicles with Drum In Hat Parking Brake 

  5. Using the special tool and the puller, remove the wheel hub.Use Special Service Tool: 205-D017 (D80L-630-6) Step Plate.Use the General Equipment: Two Leg Puller

    All vehicles 

  6. Remove and discard the wheel hub inner seal.
