Axle Shaft: Removal

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  2. Index-mark the axle shaft flange and the wheel hub to maintain alignment during installation

    Vehicles with single rear wheels 

  3. Remove and discard the axle shaft bolts and remove the axle shaft.

    Vehicles with DRW and SRW Jumbo 

  4. Remove and discard the axle shaft bolts and remove the axle shaft.

    Vehicles with Drum In Hat Parking Brake 

  5. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Remove and discard the axle shaft bolts and remove the axle shaft.
